Student Activity: The Design Process

Learning Intensions:

Create designed solutions for one or more of the technologies contexts based on a critical evaluation of needs or opportunities.

Success Criteria:  

Critique needs or opportunities to develop design briefs and investigate and select an increasingly sophisticated range of materials, systems, components, tools and equipment to develop design ideas (ACTDEP048)


Learning Experience:
Investigate:


1. Investigate the number of local food providers that sell locally sourced fresh ingredients; this may be your local green grocer or market stall or even café. 

2. Using your collected content from step 1, The class will now be split in two, an Academic Controversy session will be used to debate the key Phrase - 'Our local community strongly supports locally sourced fresh ingredients' while working in two groups to evaluate data collected and determine consensus positions. 

3. From the determined positions, the group will identify and critique needs and opportunities where the local community could better support locally sourced fresh ingredients.
