Lesson Six and Seven: The Design Process

Lesson Six and Seven: The Design Process

Learning Intensions:

Establish detailed criteria for success, including sustainability considerations, and use these to evaluate their ideas and designed solutions and processes.

Success Criteria:

Critique needs or opportunities to develop design briefs and investigate and select an increasingly sophisticated range of materials, systems, components, tools and equipment to develop design ideas (ACTDEP048)

Learning Experience:
Investigate:

1. Research 3 main meals that would showcase the local produce providers you have investigated while incorporating your identified needs and opportunities from Lesson 5.

2. Further investigate factors that would both positively and negatively impact the sustainability of planning to have each of the dishes on a menu year-round.

3. Analyse the key points to consider, create a comparison table (a Fishbone Diagram is a good example) and cross reference the key points evaluating your ideas.

4. Analyse the language and textual choices in the task using the links below, consider how these will help inform your design ideas:

    • Purpose of the analysis
    • Language being used
    • Model a visual representation of your working
